Maharashtra Gramin Bank Savings Account scheme
1. Qualification – Any individual can open a Savings Account separately or jointly with Maharashtra Gramin Bank.

4. Other benefits.
I. No TDS, Deposit Insurance upto Rs 1 Lac, Depositor can transfer funds from one account to another.
II. The account holder has to give instructions for the transmission of funds from one account to another.
III. The Internet Banking and Mobile Banking facility are available.
IV. Deposit Insurance Cover up to Rs. 5 lakh.

Steps to Maharashtra Gramin Bank Online Account Opening
1. Visit the Maharashtra Gramin Bank’s Official Portal.
2. Initiate the process of account opening through filling up the savings Account Opening Form(AOF). You need to fill up all the necessary details such as customer’s information and other details asked in different sections of the form like name, address, contact number, email id, PAN, type of account to be opened, nominee’s name, etc.
3. After completion of filling up the Account Opening Form, you need to attach KYC documents like PAN, Proof of Address, and Proof of Identity.

4. To get verified, you can submit your KYC documents through a video call. To do so, you need to provide access to your location, camera, and microphone on your smartphone.
5. After getting yourself verified through video call, your account will be opened and you will be allotted a Customer ID and account number by the bank.
6. Once your account is successfully opened. The banker will send Cheque Book, Passbook, Debit Card, and other documents to your communication address, and after that, you can make transactions from your account.

Important Note
1. You need to produce original documents to the banker for verification at the time of opening your bank account.
2. Interest in the savings account up to Rs. 10,000 in one financial year is exempt from Income Tax effective from the financial year 2012-13.
3. It is mandatory to furnish the PAN (Permanent Account Number) details for cash transactions exceeding Rs. 50,000.
4. There is a guarantee of providing interest on a savings account up to the first Rs. 1 lakh balance in the account.
